A rebuilt M.A.C.R.O.: a closer look at the conversation around a message, safer handling of images and files, and a calmer way to resolve the situations that aren't simple.
The second look communities have been asking for
M.A.C.R.O. is out of pre-release, rebuilt from the ground up for moderation that needs context. Before this release, M.A.C.R.O. ran in 52 communities, and they taught us that the hardest moments are rarely one message on its own. They're patterns, misunderstandings, and arguments that escalate, and they need a response that calms things down.
M.A.C.R.O. is built for those moments.
What's new
A closer look, within clear limits
The earlier M.A.C.R.O. read a message alongside recent channel and author history, then could flag, delete, reply, and notify moderators. The new M.A.C.R.O. keeps that context and rebuilds everything around it for safety and clarity:
- Context that's focused. M.A.C.R.O. looks at what's relevant to the situation, not your community's entire history.
- Messages, images, and files, with usage you can see. Every check uses analysis units from one monthly balance, so you always know how much you have left before you use it.
- Malware scanning first. Supported attachments are scanned before anything reads them. Anything unsafe, unsupported, or too large goes to your moderators instead of being ignored.
- Documents too. On plans that include it, supported text files and PDF or Office documents are checked safely.
- You set the limits. M.A.C.R.O. follows the approval and action rules you choose, so your moderators keep the final say when it matters.
Better tools for the people who keep the peace
M.A.C.R.O. gives your moderators context and suggestions for calming things down, without dragging every decision into public chat. Detailed reports go to a private staff channel. Guided setup confirms the bot can see the right channels and has the right permissions before you rely on it.
M.A.C.R.O. is its own Discord bot, and its free plan works without an ASCA account. Create one when you want to manage settings on the web, upgrade, set custom rules, keep more history, or recover ownership of your server's setup.
Even better with A.M.A.R.
M.A.C.R.O. works well on its own. Pair it with A.M.A.R. for a fast first check plus a closer second look. You decide how the two work together, and each one can still be added on its own.
The goal isn't more automation for its own sake. It's a calmer, more thoughtful next step when a conversation needs one.
Get started
Add M.A.C.R.O. to Discord, run the setup check, and choose a private report channel so sensitive details stay with the right people.
